Our little room in the midst of a Naples “ghetto” has breakfast in the mornings delivered by our hostess. After breakfast we found our way to Herculaneum. It’s a smaller area that was closer to the volcano than Pompeii so things were buried or ruined in a different way. We didn’t have a tour guide and I know that would have helped us understand some of the areas better. Tomorrow at Pompeii we do!
Naples is the birth city of pizza. We have been looking forward to this and it was very very good!
We had plans to go out for gelato in the late evening but it started pouring and we didn’t brave it. The rocks get very slippery here when wet and I’m still not stable enough to trust myself.
