Lost- - - SPOILERS

Lost season finale was on last night. I have been looking forward to this for a few weeks but I really just wanted to go to bed after my day yesterday, read post below. So I went and got myself a Pepsi and made myself stay up and watch it. It was really good. Better then usual because they actually gave us some new information, like Locke dies! and the island does move. Is it bad to say that I just want this show to end? I just want to know what happens. I am not usually the type to read the last few pages of a book but I so want to do that with LOST. Knowing there are only two more seasons which run from January-May I know we are getting close and I just want to know!
My favorite scene from the 2 hours was Sawyer kissing Kate goodbye before jumping out of the copter and being a hero, AGAIN! Now that was a kiss. I so want to know what he whispered in Kates ear!
So many unanswered questions!

My morning

Well, this morning went by really fast. I was taking Alicia to school and was backing out of our driveway when boom I hit a car. I am not sure how I missed the car as I look and look but that road is very busy in the morning and my neighbor parks their cars on the street so it is very hard to see. Anyway, I hit a car with very OLD people. The man was on his way to a doctors appointment for his wife for her rheumatoid arthritis. So she was already in pain and sore and then the airbag hit her arm and side. Another truck stopped and called the police and fire department so we had it all there. They took her away on a stretcher to make sure she was okay. Luckily when I went up to my insurance agency so he could get pictures he said he had talked to them and they are just fine. She just has bruising. THANK GOD. So tomorrow my van will go in to get a new bumper and I will get a rental.

This is just so embarrassing, frustrating, annoying. I keep thinking if only 5 more seconds, if only he had honked instead of slowing down like he says he did, if only I had seen him. And just one more week of school and then I won't be out on the road during the busy hour. I mean Ida St. is so busy for about 30 minutes in the morning and then it is dead. 1 more week!

I just want to crawl into bed and go to sleep. I have talked to everyone needed this morning and now that I am relaxing I am bone tired. Maybe it is nap time. Nighty-night.

Okay seriously this is so me! I think there were just a couple that I did not do, mostly because my parents wouldn't let me watch some shows. This also reminded me of my best friend Sarah McAllister. We did a lot of these together.

P.S. I love You

I have a headache! I just finished watching P.S. I love you out on DVD. My head feels as if it could explode. That is such a good movie. You know it is a good movie when every 10 minutes you need a tissue from crying. I think I will try to watch in yearly so I can be reminded of how much I love Ben and try to appreciate him while I can. :)
And if you have not seen this movie-GO RENT IT. It even ended the way I wanted it to!

Summer Reading

Sisterchicks Go Brit!

Robin Jones Gunn is a fun women's author. She has many series out that I have enjoyed but her latest series is the Sisterchick Series. Book 7 came out last week and I had pre-ordered it from Amazon so I would have it right away. In each book Robin Gunn takes 2 ladies, different ladies in each book, on an adventure somewhere in the world and along the way they learn something about God and about friendships. Usually the women are in their 50's so it is fun to imagine going with some girlfriends at my mothers age and gallivanting around the world. In this book they travel to England. It is full of little bits of British History and British literature. I am now dreaming of the day I can go to England!

The main verse that ran through this book was from Jeremiah, "I will give them hearts that will recognize me as LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me wholeheartedly." Do you recognize the Lord in the everyday? Do we give our hearts wholeheartedly to God and His plans for us? This book is a nice light read but it also really got me thinking about these ideas. The sisterchicks also realized that God is a giver. He wants to bestow gifts on us, we just need to stop and accept them. This is a line form the book, our "expectations are small, Gods gifts to us are immense." O, So true! Sometimes I feel guilty for all I have. But I need to stop that feeling and just revel in all he has blessed me with. He is a God that giveth and taketh away and I am in a period where he is giving. I need to open my heart and recognize the LORD in my blessings and be content.

Thursday night

I love Thursdays nights. LOVE LOVE LOVE Them. First off it is Ben's sports night. Right now we are in softball season. So that means I get the kids to bed early these days and have a little bit of time to myself. Then two of my favorite shows are on. Grey's Anatomy and LOST! Last night Ben had a LATE game so I took a long shower and then gave myself a french pedicure and used ped egg. I love ped egg. It makes my feet so smooth. I used a face mask and then got in comfy pajamas for the last Grey's of the season, a 2 hour show. O, and it was good. Lots of lovin' and a few heart-wrenching patients. Ben made it home to watch the last hour with me. I like when he watches my favorite shows with me. That way I can have someone to talk to about it. :) He doesn't want Meredith back with Derek but I am a sucker for love working out.

Next week it will be 2 whole hours of LOST!

O, and the tooth fairy visited Alicia in the night. This is her/his 7th visit! Alicia was a bit disappointed this morning that it was a dollar bill and not a gold dollar. Seriously! Those gold dollars are just too heavy to fly with!

My little Buddy

ETHAN

In Hebrew Ethan Means Strong!
I have taken some pictures lately of my son that I just have to share. He loves the camera, unlike my daughter so I try to take as many as I can. Ethan turns 4 in a few weeks. I cannot belive how fast the time has gone. Next year he will go to preschool every day and I will be all alone. He has kept me such good company that I know I will be lost without my little buddy. He is always giving me hugs and kisses and will just come up to me out of the blue and say, "I love you mommy." He is the sweetest little boy. I am excited to see what God has made him to be and know that he will bring glory to Him with his tender heart.

(Don't mind all the junk in the background of the pictures. Our backyard is pretty messed up right now as we work on it! And below is Ethan on the way to the beach.)

A Disney Update

I was looking back through all my posts and the last time I let you in on our Disney plans was in March. March! You guys must be anxiously awaiting an update! So here it is! Nothing is going on! We are at a little over 7 months to go so I can't really do anything. :( Since our lodging is booked all I can do is wait for July 5, 180 days from our vacation date, when I can call and make dining reservations. I have been buying our tickets though. I do some online surveys and reward programs and the last two month I have used that money to buy a Disney ticket. So I have 2 put aside at this point. I also have been setting aside Disney Gift Cards as I earn those for paying for the DDP, Disney Dining Plan. So all I am really doing right now is saving money. I hope to be able to pay for all the dining and all the Disney tickets myself. Then Ben will be paying the lodging and airline tickets, the big money items. :) I have been checking airline prices and have watched them go from what I thought was fairly high to outrageously high! I know they will go back down but it isn't fun to see those prices now. Once Southwest lets their prices out for January the other airlines will lower theirs too. So it is a waiting game. I would love to fly out of Salem with Delta but right now they are triple the price of flying from PDX. Even with price of gas from Stayton to Portland that isn't going to work.
But just because I haven't posted about Disney in awhile and won't be posting again about it until July don't think I am not thinking of this vacation almost daily. Because I am. :) Sometimes the anticipation is just as much fun.

Weeks of work

Well this is what we have been working on the last few weeks here at the Wilson house. We bought a play set at Costco (thankfully they had it at Costco because it makes it cheaper then online) and have been digging a hole and then filling that hole with cedar chips for it to sit on. Sounds easy huh? Well this took a lot of time. Finally yesterday evening the last cedar chip had been dumped and now we can move onto putting that play set together! What a process.
Also while in the midst of this project we had a landscaper come take a look at what we want done. Storey Landscaping will start working in our backyard come July! We will have some borders and flowers put in, NEW grass, a sitting area and a path from the playground to our garage backdoor. I am hoping to encourage the kids to go through there and then into our laundry room with their dirty clothes rather then the door that leads right into our carpeted living area!
The outside sitting area is going to go here:
They are going to take the dirt that Ben moved and put rocks around the edge with some stairs in the middle. I really wanted an area that set up from the rest of the yard and I am so glad that all Bens work will help make my dream! Then flagstone on top with ground cover in between. (The flagstone will be the same material for the path by the play set.) Ben and I are looking forward to this sitting area. We will get a little fire pit and some chairs and relax while the kids play! O, and Ben will finally finish the fence behind us. That white lattice above is where the vinyl fence will go!
I am so very excited. I cannot wait for August when everything should be done! We have lived here 5 years now and are finally getting to this. We figure if we ever want to sell our house this needs to be done!

An Addendum

Okay I jsut have to add this. Some of you may look at the number of people who reply to my blog and wonder why I continue with just 1-2 people reading it. BUT I do get many emails from people. For some unknown reason they find this easier to do. It does nothing for my self esteem to see those little numbers but I do know you all are reading and I am so glad I get to share my daily life with you all.
Thanks Amy for convincing me to do this.

AWANA is over for another year

Last night was our last AWANA evening! It is always so nice to have it over. Alicia was really bummed to hear it was over because she needed a few more weeks to get her book done. But she was happy when she got there and realized most of her friends also had not passed their books. I was trying to tell her she should be happy for her friends that they did something good but she just didn't want them further ahead then her. :) I did not take any pictures of this night. After years of bringing my camera I have realized our church just doesn't have very good lighting and pictures turn out horrible there. So I sat like a good parent and didn't go running all over the church looking for the right angle.

Next year I am thinking about helping by JUST being a listener for Sparks but I have loved my free Wednesday evening with the kid and Ben gone. But Alicia would go to AWANA with her verse memorized and come home without it marked off because there just wasn't time for all the kids!! Made me feel a bit guilty.

So next September you will have to ask me what I have decided. For now I am just happy that the year is officially OVER!

Seattle vacation

Well we got back Saturday evening from our Seattle trip. Ben had some work classes in Seattle and we decided to tag along. It worked out well because it was grading period so Alicia didn't miss any school!
We had a great time. I had been so afraid of rain but it was just fine while we were there. Wednesday we left around 4 after Ben got home from work. We got to our hotel around 8:30. This hotel was NICE. I mean the kind of nice that made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Ben felt fine but he was wearing business clothes and leaving early. I on the other hand had kids I brought through the lobby with a stroller and sack lunches. :) There just were not that many kids in this hotel. But it was very nice! Our room was on the water. We looked out our windows and saw cruise ships dock right next door! This picture is from our window.

It was so fun to see all the boats and was just beautiful at night with all the city lights. Thursday morning we walked FOREVER to get to a bus that took us to the Woodland ZOO. We hadn't slept real well the night before so almost immediately after we got there Alicia was asking when we were going back for a nap! We only stayed about 1.5 hours before we left! Partly because I was bone cold and then the kids were just wiped out. It didn't feel too bad leaving because we got in free with our Portland Zoo membership. It is a very nice zoo and I would like to go back someday. They have a lot of room there, seems much bigger then our zoo. So we headed back to our hotel room and took a nice nap and when Ben got back from his classes and we headed out to the Mariners game. We took a bus there and the front desk failed to mention this bus stopped running at 7:00 pm. We did not find this out to later. Anyway the game was pretty much a bust. They lost 0-5. BUT there was a good fight that put some life back into the crowd for about 15 minutes.

The kids liked eating but I am not sure they will be asking for a baseball game soon. So we left at the 7th inning and headed to our bus stop, only to see that they don't actually run that late. So we hailed a cab. This was my first cab ride ever. It was so nice. We were back to our room within minutes and we were unsure why we hadn't taken a cab there. Friday morning I decided on another cab to take us to the Pacific Science Center. We got into this free as well from our OMSI membership! The kids had a great time here. The butterfly exhibit they have is AMAZING. I could have spent hours in there. When we got hungry we headed outside and ate the sack lunches I had packed. then we took a monorail to the Seattle shopping area and walked down to the aquarium. This was the first time I had to pay to get in to an attraction and I wasn't too happy. But Alicia really wanted to go. Now if you have never been to an aquarium or a zoo you may think this place was great. It is nice but the kids had JUST seen starfish at the Pacific Science Center and can see seals and sea lions at the zoo so I found it to be a waste of money. It costs $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for kids. I think it is a tad overpriced. It did have a large felt board with all kind off sea life that the kids really enjoyed. We then headed back to our room on the free 99 bus line. When Ben got back we went to dinner with his boss and his family at the Cheesecake Factory. YUMMY. Then we went back to our room for a good nights rest. Saturday we we to the Pikes Place Market with Ben. Got some treats for the road and were off by 11. I think the market was getting ready to be swamped for Mothers Day. Such beautiful tulips to buy a mother! I saw one daddy with his kids picking out a blueberry plant for mommy.
Overall it was a nice trip. We traveled by cab, bus and monorail so the kids loved that. We did a lot for free which was very nice. And our hotel was very lovely. The kids loved sleeping with us and I think that may have been Alicia's favorite part of the whole trip. Ethan really liked watching the boats and the planes that fly right overhead. I liked being away.

YES an IPOD!

I guess Alicia getting an ipod is strange to you guys! :) It cost $70.00 with shipping and engraving included in that at apple.com. It is tiny as it is a shuffle, not a full blown ipod. I do not have an ipod but I don't really listen to music. Alicia does. I thought about buying a discman but Ben thought to spend 30 dollars on an outdated gadget would be silly. I had to agree. This thing is so cute, we got it today. It got here in 2 days!!!

I cannot wait to put some books on this thing. I am not very good at technical stuff but I want to have them on there before she opens it. She will love it! And I may be borrowing it soon while I work out.
