Day 2 English Bus tour

When you go to sleep around 7 the night before you wake up early this next morning. At 3:22am we had a quick family meeting where we decided to change our morning. We would leave early and instead of grabbing a pastry for the tour ride we would meander along the Thames taking pictures and then have a sit down breakfast. We tried to sleep a bit more after the meeting but it's too hard. They don't have air conditioning so windows are open. And it's just too loud to fall back asleep. Had breakfast at Gail's Bakery, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed, then met our tour van.
We got a lot of sites today. Cutty Sark
Rochester-where we saw their castle and went in the Cathedral,
a small village whe the boys had their first scone and clotted cream, Ben loved these. Dover Cliffs,
Dover Castle, Canterbury-where we had evensong service at their Cathedral and a tour of the city. The Cathedral is a World Heritage site and the most important Christian church in UK history. A lot of history to this amazing Cathedral. They were giving it a good cleaning so scaffolding surrounded it. Then home.
Sadly we really didn't want to waste touring time so we arrived back at our flat hungry and ate yummy leftovers from last night. We are all tired from being awake since 3:30 am but our Verizon global plans stopped working so we've been trying to figure out why so bedtime around 11 tonight, later then I hoped. 15,550 steps. ********** Lesson learned: jet lag hasn't been too bad because we didn't take a nap when we first arrived like we wanted. Staying up as long as possible was the right thing to do.
