Started our day pretty early. I woke at 3 am, alarm went off at 4, left house at 4:45.
Got through security super fast just to sit for hours. Then they delayed our plane another hour. Got to Seattle and then waited some more there. Got on our flight to Paris no problem. Flight was close to 11 hours and Alicia and I were sure we'd sleep but it's super hard for us. Never did sleep and that was really hard on Alicia. I'm not sure she was aware how long this flight would feel. Did use a plane bathroom for the first time ever. Not bad.
Started feeling a tad nervous thinking about our landing. Once we hit ground everything is new. I will be going off what I've read. The unknown is a bit unnerving.
About 5:00 am our new time, 8 pm pst, we opened the plane window shade to the most gorgeous sunrise. Pictures through a plane window cannot capture it but it was breathtaking.
We were really hoping our hotel room would be available when we arrived even though it was hours before check-in. Like really really hoping. We just wanted to shower and take a fast rest. ...
The rest to come. This ends Monday.
Lessons learned: spring for the seats with more room, bring an airplane neck pillow on long flights and don't forget the aleve.
